It didn’t just start in Iran. It spans wider than you think.
Throughout history, the female gender has been generally tagged as the weaker. This notion has influenced the way the world treats women. Laws were put in place; women’s rights were continually deprived, and leadership seats were consistently held back for fear of women’s incapacity to influence and drive changes.
Centuries long, the fight has been on the ground to change this mindset and help the world see what the female gender is truly capable of.
Have you ever asked why women aren’t considered capable of making the main decisions in our nations?
Women exhibit more power than you think.
Statistically, it shows that in 2022 more American women than men voted, more women are engaged in protests and to date, more women are involved in driving changes and forces worldwide. Sadly, this is what society doesn’t recognize.
Of course, the problems Women in Iran face are not similar to the ones in Germany or other countries, but we must agree that there is a link.
Some PROBLEMS OUR WOMEN FACE TODAY
Diminished Labor force participation
The International Labour Organization sources that in places like North Africa and the Middle East, the rates of women in the labor force are less than 30%. This exclusively means that a large part of the female population in these countries isn’t earning any income and solely have to depend on males to provide.
Abortion: Deprived rights
In America one of the most controversial issues today is Abortion. Recent laws which have been set up have caused a hot raise of eyebrows questioning the decisions which rid women again of their right to choose and make decisions they deem fit. These are only some of the many global issues faced by women today; many of which strip them of their basic rights.
Lack of right to wear whatever she chooses.
In many countries, women have been continually deprived of their freedom to wear what they want. It is known that in some locations, certain mandatory laws were put in place for every female (including tourists) to wear a headscarf. Unfortunately, this law doesn’t have any solid backing or reasoning to it, and defiance of this has opened the ground to the oppression of women, an unfortunate cause happening in the country of Iran.
WHAT WE CAN DO
We believe that the Iranian women’s movement is at the forefront as the only contemporary women’s revolution of our time, even if the reasons are similar worldwide. We feel obligated to be the echo of brave women fighting on the frontlines from Kyiv to the streets of Tehran against injustice in any form.
Studio Republique
As a creative agency, we understand the need to spread this message to the world, through our distinct expression. Art.
And therefore, we started a campaign addressing the need for the world to see through a new lens, this global age-long fight.
This movement bears truth and justice on its shoulders, not pushing away the matters the world has consistently decided to bury. It calls out to our world today to understand that women matter and deserve the freedom to rights attributed to every human.
Glamour magazine agrees with us, addressing in their publication our campaign for women’s rights: “Art is one of the most perfect ways to raise public awareness of social problems because through creativity we can reach as many people as possible with our message and over time the world can become a better place.”
Our women are pioneers of the change needed in our world today; Whether it’s women from India, America, or Hungary, all are equal and deserved to be given the same basic rights. It is time for us to stand against injustice and stop women’s suffrage in our world today.
So, the question is What should you do?
Do some research and find out more about women’s rights and how to help.
Post a message, support, and pioneer the women around you.
Talk more about this, and don’t stop sharing and raising awareness about these issues around the world.
Treat women fairly and justly: In whatever scope you find yourself, break the cycle of thought surrounding the unjust treatment of women. Begin the cycle of fairness, where every man and woman are seen and given the rights they deserve.
Finally, Spread the hashtag lets stand for truth and justice for women around the world.
